Valerie's Story
Hello , my name is Valerie Vargas. I am a life long resident of the Lehigh Valley and a fitness enthusiast for over a decade. I am a member of First Baptist Church of Bethlehem, a co grief leader, children's ministry director, your friendly neighborhood crunchy SAHM and a fiercely patriotic American.
My wellness journey began early in life, probably as early as my first chiropractor appointment at 9 years old and subsequent knee surgery in 2007. I had been asking my long-time practitioners the same question for years: “ Am I in pain because I'm angry, or angry/depressed because I'm in pain?”
I remained largely unsuccessful in my attempts to heal, rigorous fitness regimes plus failed medications and therapy. I’ve also had physical therapy from my head to my toes. I’ve had 3 different personal trainers and tried over 6 antidepressants/SSRI’s. I was also on the same birth control for 15 years till I got pregnant in 2020.
I knew at a young age my pain was not normal- I was constantly met with conflicting information. Not one doctor asked me about my diet, or inquired about my cycle and use of birth control. No one thought it was strange that a young lady had so many symptoms. My definition of eating healthy was not being hungry and not having diarrhea basically. No one in my family modeled a healthy lifestyle. Both my parents had multiple surgeries and to be honest I remember little about their recovery.
Despite the gaslighting from family and Drs, I knew I was carrying generational baggage, coupled with unhealthy coping mechanisms- like drinking. Also patterns of fear and anxiety masked by performance and people pleasing in the name of “community.” Nothing I was doing was sustainable long term. This was a season of surviving, not thriving.
The turning point in my life truly was when I got married, summer 2019; before the world as we knew it ceased to exist and I was thrust into true adulthood head first and became pregnant shortly after. I was so sick the whole time but what a blessing to be able to stay home and not have to share the experience with anyone but my husband. I knew probably around age 12 I wanted to have a home birth and to my surprise I was never questioned *to my face, and it was truly a religious experience. It opened my eyes to the real conclusion that I wasn't broken, my body was communicating, and I hadn't been listening. I didn't know how. I didn’t know where to start.
Around this time I purchased every modality I could get my hands on; I own a vibration plate, red light, castor oil packs, eye massager, acupressure mat, dener roll and probably more *ask my husband lol. After my youngest son was born in 2024, I’d lost around 15 lbs during pregnancy from being sick round the clock. Around 5 months postpartum I found a holistic practitioner and got my firstof many hydro colon cleanses. LIFE CHANGING. Shortly after that I came across an advertisement for Recharge and showed it to my husband. To my surprise, he was all in.

Tyler's Story
Hey guys my name is Tyler and I'm one of the co-owners here at Recharge Health and Wellness. I’m a truck driver and have been working nights for over ten years.
My wellness journey began a few years ago at the end of 2022. I decided it was time to start working out, which turned into me quitting smoking and drinking.
In 2024, we welcomed our second son, Valerie and I decided we wanted to find a way for me to exit trucking. It’s extremely physical, dangerous, and I wanted to be home more for our little ones. We searched for what path we would take; she came across Recharge on Facebook. At first, I wasn’t sure about Recharge, I had never heard about a place offering all the things they did. But after reviewing the modalities, I realized that the steam room I have been using for fatigue and to improve my lungs from years of smoking is part of what Recharge offers. Not only did I see something that I involve in my recovery from working out, but they also have the science to back everything up. Once I saw this, I jumped on board and we started moving forward.
Throughout 2025, I started noticing that recovery techniques are a must to improve workout performance. So, for me Recharge is a place to help improve my workouts by improving my rest. At the end of 2025 I suffered an injury at work, which put me out of commission for 7 months until I was fully recovered from surgery, setting back our ability to open Recharge. We choose to open Recharge here where we live to help our community to live better and healthier lives.

Alicia is a wife, mother of four, social work graduate, and wellness advocate whose passion for medical research, holistic health, Pilates, and personalized care drives her mission to help individuals and families discover sustainable ways to feel their best, both inside and out.
Alicia's Story
Hi, I'm Alicia! As a wife and mother of four daughters, I understand the importance of caring for both ourselves and those we love. Born in Philadelphia, I had the unique opportunity to experience the world from an early age because of my father's service in the United States Air Force. Living in different places and experiencing diverse cultures shaped my perspective, teaching me adaptability, compassion, and an appreciation for the unique journey each person takes through life.
I earned my degree in Social Work from Liberty University, where I developed a strong foundation in supporting individuals through compassion, empathy, and personalized care. My passion for wellness grew from a love of medical research and a desire to discover both evidence-based and holistic approaches to improving health, not only for my own family, but for my community as well. I believe that true wellness is a journey unique to each individual, requiring patience, trust, and a personalized approach.
In addition to my passion for wellness, I have found joy and strength through Pilates. It has not only helped me stay physically strong and healthy but has also connected me with another incredible part of our community. Pilates has become an important part of my life, providing balance, resilience, and happiness while reinforcing my belief that movement and self-care are essential components of overall well-being. My goal is for every client to feel seen, heard, and supported. It is an honor to walk alongside each person on their wellness journey, helping them discover sustainable ways to feel their very best, inside and out.
